Tom's Cakes opened in St Ives in the summer of 2014. The distinctive little building had been derelict for many years and previously it had been a smoky bookmakers for decades.
Aside from the cakes, it's one of the few places in town that serves great coffee. I was a regular customer that first summer and I worked there through the following winter.
With its big windows, the light inside is often beautiful. Downstairs is the perfect place for watching the world, or our little part of it, go by.
