Cambridge Couple Photoshoots
Cambridge Couple Photoshoots by Chris Boland
Thanks for finding my gallery of couple photoshoots in Cambridge. When I photograph couples in Cambridge, I like to have a few special places in mind, while still leaving time for spontaneity. We can explore The Backs, King’s Parade or even go punting.
FAQ
How long is a Cambridge couple photoshoot?
I usually suggest at least 90 minutes. If there are a few locations you’d like to visit, or if you’d prefer to take things at a relaxed pace, we can make it a few hours. We can even stop for coffee or plan a quick change of clothes.
Where do the photoshoots take place?
Cambridge has so many beautiful locations. We can explore The Backs, wander through the Botanic Garden, or keep things more understated around quiet streets. If you have access to a college, as a current or former student, we can certainly visit there.
We’re not used to being photographed – will it feel awkward?
I’m used to working with couples who feel completely at ease, and those who are naturally a bit camera-shy. My approach is subtle and understated, focusing on natural moments rather than posed shots.
What should we wear?
My advice is to dress in a way that feels stylish, but still comfortable.
What if it rains?
If we can see it’s going to rain for most of the day, I’m happy to reschedule. That said, there are still places we can visit to avoid the rain if needed.
How and when will we receive the photos?
I deliver all of the photos digitally, with both colour and black and white versions of each image.
Do we need a permit to take photos in Cambridge?
Only some areas, particularly the college grounds, require permission for professional photography. The Botanic Gardens allows photoshoots, but charges a fee of around £55 for this.
Testimonials
“Chris was the best photographer I could have asked for our photoshoot in Cambridge. He took some incredible photos and the turnaround was very quick, especially for being over the Christmas period. We got a few photos day-of, and then all the photos in the next 10 days. He shot on both digital and film, with some truly stunning results on each format. Couldn’t recommend Chris enough, and on top of being a great photographer, he’s a pleasure to work with and he really helps bring your vision to life.”

About Me
The first good photograph I took was of Bob Dylan. It was with a simple 35mm film camera at a music festival many years ago. The picture was just a snapshot, but it captured the spirit of the day – which is what it’s all about.
I spent many years photographing concerts and musicians for a newspaper. All through this time, I was learning how to use a camera and how to photograph people, and it was a wonderful way to learn.
Today I’m a wedding photographer and videographer and could not be happier. It would be a pleasure to join you on your wedding adventure and to document your celebrations.
