London Couple Photoshoots
London Couple Photoshoots by Chris Boland
Thanks for finding my gallery of couple photoshoots in London. Some of these images are from elopements, some from pre-wedding shoots, and some from simply fun days out in the city. When I photograph couples in London, I like to have a few special places in mind, while still leaving time for spontaneity. If you’re planning a wedding in the city, you might also like to view my London wedding photography.

FAQ
How long is a London couple photoshoot?
I usually suggest at least 90 minutes. If there are several locations you’d like to visit, or if you’d prefer to take things a little slower, we can make it a few hours. We can even stop for lunch, or plan a quick change of clothes.
Where do the photoshoots take place?
London has so many iconic locations. We can visit classic landmarks, or keep things more subtly “London” and let the natural backgrounds set the scene.
We’re not used to being photographed — will it feel awkward?
I’m used to working with couples who feel totally comfortable being photographed, and couples who are naturally a bit shyer in front of the camera. My style is subtle and understated, and I like to make beautiful photos without unnatural posing.
What should we wear?
My advice is to dress in a way that feels stylish, but still comfortable.
What if it rains?
If we can see it’s going to rain for most of the day, I’m happy to reschedule. That said, there are still places we can visit to avoid the rain if needed.
How and when will we receive the photos?
I deliver all of the photos digitally, with both colour and black and white versions of each image.
Do we need a permit to take photos in London?
Some locations in London, particularly certain parks and private spaces, may require permission or a permit for professional photography. If that applies to somewhere you have in mind, I’m happy to advise and we can either arrange the permit or choose an alternative spot nearby.
Short London Highlight Films
I can also create short highlight films from your couple photoshoot around London. These are usually around two minutes, just to capture the feeling of your day in the city. I also offer an analogue Super 8 option for a beautiful vintage look.

About Me
The first good photograph I took was of Bob Dylan. It was with a simple 35mm film camera at a music festival many years ago. The picture was just a snapshot, but it captured the spirit of the day – which is what it’s all about.
I spent many years photographing concerts and musicians for a newspaper. All through this time, I was learning how to use a camera and how to photograph people, and it was a wonderful way to learn.
Today I’m a wedding photographer and videographer and could not be happier. It would be a pleasure to join you on your wedding adventure and to document your celebrations.
